COPE is here to listen

Volunteers:

Volunteers are our most vital resource! Currently, approximately 50 volunteers ages 18 to 90 answer calls to COPE. Our listeners must remain anonymous. Some of them have been volunteers for more than 20 years.

  • Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Training sessions are offered 3 times a year. They include 20 hours of classroom work and 8 to 12 hours of on-Hotline training.
  • Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer listener must call our administrative office (262-377-1477) to arrange an interview prior to the beginning of a training session.
  • Volunteers have flexible hours – they pick the time.

WHY Become a COPE Volunteer Listener?

  • Because you have empathy for others!
  • Because you want to make a difference in someone’s life!
  • Because you are looking for a MEANINGFUL volunteer job!
  • Because you care!

We Listen! We care!
